Miner Bobs "Gone and almost forgotten" Mines

This section is dedicated to the mines that have almost been erased by time and land development. Chances are that you have walked by one of these mines on a weekend hike in the woods without even realizing it. Only subtle clues remain, a depression in the ground, a tailings piles, or perhaps the concrete remnants of a hoist base. But with a keen eye, these features tell another story.
It is well known that at one time, New Jersey had the highest concentration of mines  for its size in the country. So it is not surprising that North West New Jersey is dotted with these features. Even though there is not much remaining of them today, they are still part of the mining history of New Jersey.
