The Dolan Mine is one
of the coolest mines to be seen. It has an adit which goes in quite a long
ways. The entrance was at one time cemented shut, but it looks like that didnt
stop some people from opening it up again. The mine seems to have been an
exploratory, as it did not yield any ore. The rock inside is igneous and very
stable and solid. To be honest, you would probably be safer in that mine
during a hurricane/tornado then in any 2x4 dwelling.
The mine is named after a Bishop Dolan,
who opened it back in 1869, dont ask me why a bishop was running around
starting up mine operations!
